Joseph S. Rosato

Joseph S. Rosato is a distinguished trial attorney with more than two hundred million dollars in verdicts and settlements. He is the founding member of The Rosato Firm PC, a law firm specializing in all types of personal injury and complex litigation matters, as well as providing trial services to members of the bar.

Mr. Rosato is a graduate of New York University and he received his Juris Doctor Degree from Brooklyn Law School. He is admitted to the New York and New Jersey state bars, the U.S. District Court of New Jersey, the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York and the Supreme Court of the United States. Mr. Rosato has been selected to New York Super Lawyers for personal injury plaintiffs in general. Only five percent (5%) of all lawyers in the state are chosen for this esteemed honor after “considerable polling and peer evaluation efforts with a detailed research process that evaluates each candidate based on 12 indicators of peer recognition and professional achievement.”

Mr. Rosato began practicing law in the insurance defense field before moving to the preeminent plaintiff’s personal injury firm of Schneider, Kleinick, Weitz, Damashek and Shoot in 1996 where he focused as a trial attorney primarily in the field of complex litigation. That firm later merged with renowned attorney Johnnie Cochran to form the New York office of The Cochran Firm, where Mr. Rosato continues to provide litigation and trial services to seriously injured clients. His experience also includes eleven years in the New York State Court System where he held positions as a court officer, court clerk and associate court clerk to Supreme Court Justices.

In addition to his commitment to clients, Mr. Rosato continues his efforts to improve the legal system through volunteer work as President of the Columbian Lawyers Association of Brooklyn, Past President of the Catholic Lawyers Guild of Kings County, and Director, Trustee and Treasurer with the Brooklyn Bar Association and Foundation. Mr. Rosato is a member of other law related committees including the Independent Judicial Election Qualification Commission for the Second Judicial District, the Judicial Screening and Grievance Committees for the Brooklyn Bar Association and a Master in the King’s County Inns of Court, which provides continuing legal education to the bench and bar. Mr. Rosato is also a member of the Board at Catholic Migration Services of the Diocese of Brooklyn, which provides legal assistance and outreach to immigrant communities.
